  • Will you join the rest of us in 2024 by becoming a member? It’s a great value at only $50.00 per year. Your financial support allows our organization to continue doing the following:

  1. Help direct the COLA organization by attending membership meetings in 2024 on May4th, June 8th, July 13h (all at Fairhaven Township Hall); and finally on August 10th at Phil and Cindy Haatja's home on Lake Marie.
  2. Implement a managed fish stocking program that enhances walleye angling opportunities for our residents and guests. This program has been running since 2019.
  3. Implement a pre-launch boat inspection program at our public boat launch to minimize the introduction of additional aquatic invasive species into our lakes.
  4. Put in place an active herbicide treatment plan for controlling curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) and Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM). CLP and EWM are both known aquatic invasive species in Minnesota waters and can cause significant problems along infested shorelines.
  5. Participate in Starry Trek, a multi-county program aimed at the early discovery of starry stonewort AIS infestations.
  6. Host and support a variety of public events geared at increasing fellowship among COLA members.
  7. Sponsor an annual Independence Day boat parade.
  8. Lead conversations with the Clearwater River Watershed District on topics that directly affect our lakes (i.e. study about monitoring carp infestation levels and provide data and information about gravel road runoff issues)
  9. Advise local law enforcement on high water levels and promote controlled boat speeds during high water events.
  10.  Twice per year Adopt a Highway cleanup efforts on County Road 44 between Fairhaven and Kimball.
